| Title = Application of Field and Laboratory Emission Cell "FLEC" - Recovery Study, Case Study of Damaged Linoleum, and Liquid Wax |
| Abstract = The study shows additional application of the Field and Laboratory Emission Cell (FLEC) for emission testing of volatile organic compounds (VOC) from building materials. A recovery test kit has been tested and applied in a recovery study with dodecane. The emission of a liquid floor wax has been measured over 24 hours in FLEC and in a small chamber and the emission rates are compared in terms of first order rate constants (k1) and the initial emission factors of selected VOC The application of FLEC in a complaint case about malodorous linoleum is described. It was shown that wetting the linoleum had a marked influence on the qualitative emission of fatty acids, glycol ethers, and 2-decenal. |
