Title = Characterization of Linoleum. Part 1: Measurement of Volatile Organic Compounds by the use of the Field and Laboratory Emission Cell, "FLEC"
Abstract = The volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from 12 linoleum products were measured by use of the field and laboratory emission cell 'FLEC', with sampling on Tenax TA followed by thermal desorption and GC/FID or GC/MS analysis. Major VOCs were alkanals and fatty acids. The emissions were compared after 24h in FLEC and similarly after one month's storage in a well ventilated room. The emission decay of three VOCs was modelled for four linoleum products using a new diffusion model, and the time required to reach 50% of the odour threshold concentration in a standard room was calculated.
